York Motor Yacht Club(originally founded as York Motor Boat Club) was established on 3rd June 1933 and has been at the heart of boating on the River Ouse ever since.
Set in an excellent riverside location, the Club brings together a diverse and knowledgeable membership. There is always someone willing to offer advice or share experience, whether you’re new to boating or have been around it for years.
Members regularly support one another across a wide range of areas, including:
boat maintenance
navigation and cruising
boat handling
practical projects and pontoon works
The Club also benefits from a well-appointed clubhouse, offering excellent value to members, including regular catering on Friday evenings, a popular and sociable way to enjoy time at the Club.
We run a programme of events, rallies and social gatherings throughout the year — a great way to meet others, build confidence on the water, and make the most of being part of the Club.
Please see the attached for a brief history of the clubs ‘First 70 Years’, written by Pat Morris, an interesting read.
