What a Fantastic Night at YMYC
Our BBQ Night proved to be a tremendous success, with glorious sunshine providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of great food, excellent company and outstanding live music from Ten Thousand Hands (Guitars and Timpani).
The terrace and club was full throughout the evening, creating a wonderful atmosphere as members and guests enjoyed the sunshine, the BBQ and the entertainment.
No report on the evening would be complete without mentioning the now legendary “SaladGate” incident. Somewhere between ordering, collecting and delivering the salad, there was a brief period of uncertainty as to exactly who was responsible for it. Thankfully the mystery was solved in time, the salad arrived, and a potential crisis was averted. We are pleased to report that no lettuce was harmed during the event!
Perhaps the highlight of the evening came from one of our newest members, who took the time to tell us how welcome they had felt since joining YMYC. Their comments were a lovely reminder of what makes our club special. While we are proud of our facilities, events and riverside location, it is the friendliness of our members that truly defines YMYC. Hearing that a new member had felt so warmly welcomed was something we can all be proud of and reflects the inclusive spirit that continues to make the club such a great place to be.
A sincere thank you goes to everyone who helped organise, cater, perform and support the event. These evenings only happen because of the efforts of so many people behind the scenes, and your contribution is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the club for the next event.
